For nearly 40 years, the Creux de l’Enfer contemporary art centre has been inviting artists to design works and exhibitions that resonate with an atypical architectural heritage and landscape, steeped in history and legend. Inaugurated in 1988, the art centre has established itself as a place of commitment and constant reinvention, which continues to bring life to the valley of factories. Artists are also invited to develop projects in the area, often in close collaboration with numerous local stakeholders.
To mark the reopening of the Creux de l’Enfer factory, the IN VIVO collective exhibition celebrates the art centre’s living memories through a sensitive journey in which works by artists from different generations dialogue with each other and with the power of the site. The aim here is to revive powerful artistic experiences in the light of the questions that run through current practices.
